How To Improve At KITCHEN GADGETS - FIVE STYLISH GADGETS

Kitchen Gadgets - Five Stylish Gadgets

As someone who loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen, I have just about every kitchen accessory you can imagine, and I'm always on the lookout for the next great and innovative cooking gadget that will enhance my culinary experience.

With this corn stripper, I can remove kernels from five cobs (about three cups of corn) in under four minutes.

I love kitchen utensils. As someone who loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen, I have just about every kitchen accessory you can imagine, and I'm always on the lookout for the next great and innovative cooking gadget that will enhance my culinary experience. Before I share what I think are five smart gadgets, let me first say that a kitchen gadget should offer functions that make cooking easier. It has to be compact because - let's face it - there's only so much storage space in the kitchen. This great kitchen gadget gives you the feeling of "Wow, I can't believe nobody thought of that before" while using it. And a good kitchen gadget often solves a problem that's always been a pain in the ass.

Enter my first connection - a corn stripper. This little guy rocks my world I love fresh sweet corn on the cob. What I can do without it is the bad feeling of grit between my teeth and the catastrophic mess left when the juice flies if I used a knife to scrape the corn off the cob. With this corn stripper, I can remove kernels from five cobs (about three cups of corn) in under four minutes. It's easy and largely mess-free, so I get delicious sweet corn without any hassle.

My second option is one I recently found while searching various gadget websites. It is a utensil pot clip. The reason I like this tool is because... well, I'm lazy or cranky; Not sure which one. When you flip the contents of the saucepan, always put the stir pot down and it will make a mess. Even if you use a rest spoon, clean it up. With this tool, no more. After stirring, place the spoon on the clamp of the saucepan until you are ready to stir again. Best of all, any leftover sauce, or whatever, goes back to the pot. genius.

Number three on my nifty gadget list is the Silicone Collapsible Measuring Cup. Two things about this kitchen gadget that make me say "wow." The first is that they collapse so you can put them away in small spaces. The other is that because it is made of silicone, it easily releases sticky contents such as corn syrup or peanut butter. When I first saw these guys, I couldn't believe no one had thought of them before... I mean, how obvious is that!

When it comes to nifty gadgets, my fourth choice has to be the ceramic ginger grater. Many people use a regular grater or a grater to grate ginger, and that's exactly what I've been doing. However, I have at least four recipes—one for a great salad dressing—that either require ginger juice only, or that require separating the pulp and juice. Have you ever tried to separate the pulp from the juice? It's messy (okay, maybe I'm just a geek) and you end up losing half your juice as it rolls down your arm. Anyway, the ceramic ginger grater easily separates the ginger pulp and juice, and it made my life so much better.

My last neat gadget... isn't it. Well, not really. I came across this cheese board in one of my last episodes of retail therapy. I am a foodie and love to entertain other foodies. One thing I like to serve before dinner is some wine and some of the best cheese I can find. What I love about this slate cheese board is that you can write the name of the cheese directly on the serving plate. How cool is that? My guests commented not only on its elegance as a serving vessel, but also on its sheer innovation. I love my cheese board.

Here you are. Five of my favourite kitchen tools. If you're like me, you probably already have yours, but if you don't, check out these gadgets. They will make cooking and serving food more enjoyable.
